This is a thoroughly enjoyable moonwalk through 20 fabulous dance sequences as chosen by dance experts such as Len Goodman, Arlene Phillips, Ashley Banjo and Brian Friedman, many of whom are all too happy to demonstrate their own versions. Jason Gardiner is especially keen to share his performance of Madonna’s Vogue although thankfully Len Goodman refrains from doing Beyoncé’s Single Ladies. There are few surprises but it’s studded with backstage titbits and insights from choreographers and dancers as well as copious footage and celebrity comment. For instance, did you know that there were three dance doubles for Jennifer Beales in Flashdance and that one was a man? Not Robert Webb, I might add.

A countdown of the top 20 dance routines as voted for by viewers, featuring iconic sequences from films such as Saturday Night Fever, Grease and Singin’ in the Rain, to music videos like Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Madonna’s Vogue and Beyonce’s Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It). The programme includes interviews with Kylie Minogue, Olivia Newton-John, Strictly’s Len Goodman, Ann Widdecombe and Louis Smith, and Dancing on Ice mentors Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, plus many others. Narrated by Rufus Hound.
