The outdoorsman and survival expert continues the series in which he explores the more remote areas of France, observing the local flora and fauna. The hills of Provence are famous for their ancient olive groves and lavender fields, but this is also where a special scrubland known as the Maquis or the Garrigue is found. On the limestone outcrops, prickly juniper, scattered pines and dry-habitat aromatic herbs carpet the hillsides. Ray explores this classic Provence landscape, visiting the beautiful ochre canyons, and descends into the gorge to look for the rare Bonelli’s eagle. He also uses his tracking skills to find a family of wild boar.
